Hindsæter sits beautiful along the tourist road over Valdresflya at 950 MASL, just 15 km from Besseggen / Gjende. Stay at our cozy timber hotel from the year 1898 and enjoy the mountain scenery and the panoramic view of the Sjoa river, Sjoa valley and Jotunheimen.
In summer there are many trails for short and long hikes and the place is a natural choice for those seeking accommodation during their trip over Besseggen. During the winter there are 150 km of forest and high mountain trails that leads to Jotunheimen National Park amongst other places. The hosts André and Karola offer historical Norwegian farming atmosphere, dining experiences and good stories.
Food
We use quality and often local products, of which preparation is an important process for our chefs. We are inspired by international cuisine as well as traditional methods of food preparation, such as canning of fish and meat. We have been tested anonymously by Innovation Norway, and were able to join the list of the best restaurants in Norway offering regional products – Norwegian Foodprints.
