Memurubu Tourist Lodge is idyllic located under Besseggen next to Gjende. Memurubu is located between Gjendesheim and Gjendebu, with Besseggen and Bukkelægeret on each side.

Memurubu is by origin a old farm that has been in use for over 100 years, but the farming operation is retired by now. Today, Memurubu is a modern tourist lodge with good comfort, local food and renewable electricity from its own hydropower plant.

We have about 150 beds divided into rooms of different sizes – many of them with private bathroom and toilet. In addition, there is also a nice campsite for those who wish to stay in a tent.

Memurubu is a great base for experiencing some of the most magnificent hikes in Jotunheimen.

In the mountain restaurant, we serve breakfast and three course meals to everyone – both overnight guests and those dropping by for a tasty meal.

Breakfast is served from 08:00 to 09:00. The breakfast service may start earlier if we have many guests. The breakfast buffet consists of food to ready you for a good day in the mountains, such as homemade brown bread, porridge and an array of cheeses, jams, fish and meat spreads. We make most of the breakfast ourselves at the lodge with local produce from the local area and the rest from Gudbrandsdalen. Make yourselves a solid packed lunch for your hike, and fill up your Thermos with hot water, tea or coffee.

Three course dinner
When you come back down after a day in the mountains, you still have time for a little rest and a shower before dinner is served at 19:00. During the busiest summer periods we operate with two sittings. We serve three course meals every day, offering local menus with fish, cured meats, burgers, elk and reindeer. Our goal is to always serve you tasty food in generous portions.
